Penny Collins

SPDC Activities Co-ordinator

Hello, my name is Penny and I have been working with SPDC for 6 years. My role in the team is to run the Adaptive Sports Club and to organise a range of sports and physical challenges.

One of the most exciting things I have done was to canoe down the River Wye with my children and my friends. After capsizing, falling in and battling against the rapids we reached our goal. It was so exhilarating.

I am…

My friendly memories at SPDC have been how our team have made it possible for children and young people with disabilities to experience a wide range of challenges such as abseiling, canoeing, sailing, giant zip wires, fan descending, tree treks and many many more.

My personal superhero is Emmeline Pankhurst who was a British political activist and leader of the British suffragette movement who helped women win the right to vote.

If I had a superpower it would be to soar high above the mountains and fly with the birds of prey.
